Tournament will be played under USA Hockey, MN Hockey, and MN District 10 Hockey rules with the addition of the following:
Each team will be guaranteed three games. Tournaments will be held in a round robin style.
For games ending in a tie after regulation time, the following format will be used:
5 minute sudden death overtime
3 person shootout
1 person shootout until winner is decided. Teams must use all available skaters on their roster before a player shoots twice.
Games will consist of (3) 15 minute periods. 1st and 2nd period stop time. 3rd period running time, last three minutes stop time unless there is a 5 goal differential. Teams should be ready and prepared to play 15 minutes prior to their scheduled start time in the event the previous game is running ahead.
One timeout will be awarded to each team per game.
Ice will be resurfaced after each game.
A player will be ejected for the remainder of his/her current game after acquiring 4 penalties of any nature or combination. **i.e. a penalty for check from behind would consist of 2 penalties. (2 minutes and a 10 minute misconduct).
USA Hockey rules will apply to game misconducts and match penalties.
The following format will be used to determine final team positions at the end of the round robin style tournament in case of tie in points.
